Another Saturday hike for us today. We went about 3 miles. The weather was great, the trail was icy and muddy but it was good to get a break from the gym and get out into the fresh air. Maggie is exhausted this eve from the hike. Arn gave her an aspirin too to help the stiffness. This is a pic of Pikes Peak from the trail but it was kind of hazy out. I think another snow storm may be on the way.

Ski Day at Keystone 2/23/10
We finally got a little fresh snow and headed off to Keystone for the day. Meredith met us just out of Denver and went with us. The snow was good, weather was brisk, the sky was blue, and skiing was great. Meredith's fav trail 'Wolverine' almost got the best of me but I handled the trees and the moguls pretty well. Grandma did fine at home with Maggie for the day. She kept the telephone lines hot with all of her phone calls. We may go up next week and meet one of Arn's frat buddies who will be in Breckenridge. Gotta use up our 4 pks before the end of the season!

My Valentine....
Our day started off with CRANBERRY Orange Scones (Ina Garten's recipe). Yum.... Then a Bailey's Latte while doing the NY Times crossword puzzle online with my Valentine. It was a beautiful sunny Colorado day with a fresh dusting of snow so we decided to take a snow hike even tho it was 19 degrees outside. While driving over to the Mt. Herman trailhead we saw a RED tail hawk! Mag was excited to go with us out to Monument Rock. All we have to do is say the work, hike. When we got out to the lake we saw that someone had gone out on the ice in the fresh snow and made some snow angels. So nice... After hiking about 4 mi. we decided to head to O'Malley's (to eat some grease since we had burned a few calories). Wings, fries, beer, and a catsup Valentine on a white plate ( Arn didn't forget a card...he just got creative this year). Grandma enjoyed the wings when we got home. She loves O'Malley's. For dinner we'll have salmon (cause it's PINK) and later watch the Olympics. Just a nice Valentine's day, with my Valentine. Simplify!
