A Party for the Graduates
5/9/10
Graduation Twofer!
The smaller graduation ceremonies were on Thursday, May 6th. The weather was iffy but it was great that we had the handicap card which gave us great parking place. Meredith got to say a couple of sentences of thanks at hers (held outside in a tent). She got the summer job she wanted which is a lab research assistant. She'll get to do a little traveling to collect field specimens to Flagstaff, Az. and Woodland Park, Co. She will also still work at Whole Foods til it closes. Tyler's small ceremony was in the evening. He's taken a job offer with Schumberger, an oil company, and will start this fall. Houston, Oklahoma, and Louisanna willl all be explored. I think his title will be Jr. Field Engineer. Both ceremonies were very nice and I'm glad they both chose to participate. We went to The Med in between for drinks and apps. Friday morn was the large deal at Folsom Stadium at 8:30 in the morn. Arn and I stayed in Longmont. Stacy and Bea had come up on Thurs. and took Grandma back to Monument that night. We had some ice and snow but the weather warmed up. It was a great ceremony but we're glad we got a two for one. We hit the OPH afterwards and then back to Monument. The next day we had a party at the house. The Lenski's, UJ, Lahnerts, Banks, Stan and Bea, Miranda, and Chris and Maren all came. The weather was cool but the party was fun. So proud of all my kids! Watch for a hulahoop post later!

Valerie's Graduation
Val graduated and is now an SLP!! Graduation of the College of Health was on May 7th (Arn's 58th) in Salt Lake City at the Huntsman Center (University of Utah). She received her Masters Degree and has accepted a job with Rehab Visions in Dickenson, North Dakota. She will be moving there the first part of June. So proud of you Val!
The weather was nice while we were in SLC but there was too much snow to try out any of our old hiking spots. We did try to go to Cascade Springs near Sundance but the road was closed. We stopped by Bridal Veil Falls and enjoyed the views of Mt. Timpanogos. We stayed in Park City part of the time. Arn, Eric (Val's boyfriend), and Tyler played golf at Mountain Dell on the way to Park City and Arn tried the course near our old house (Old Mill). My back has been acting up so I didn't even pack my clubs.
Our old area is so built up now. It is beautiful there and I realize what a nice location we lived in and all of the things it had to offer. It was fun to see the Dunns (our next door neighbors) and to spend some time with Dani. Arn and I drove this time which only took us 9 hrs. Our next road trip will probably be to check out North Dakota! Missed you Mere!
