Birthday and Anniversary Trip Sept. 2021

 Arn and I hadn't been to Steamboat Springs for a couple of years so we dedided to make a trip.  We stayed in the ski village but there was lots of construction going on there.  The river walk was very nice but floating wasn't allowed due to the water levels.  We hiked to Fish Creek Falls which was beautiful.  We tried to hike while going over Rabbit Ears Pass but couldn't really find a good trail. We also played golf a couple of times at Haymaker GC and RollingStone Ranch.  

40th Wedding Anniversary - 9/1/1979

We decided to take a quick trip for our anniversary in Sept.  New Orleans has been on our bucket list for a while now so we flew in and drove to Mobile Alabama and played golf at a couple of Robert Trent Jones golf courses.  We try to play some of these courses whenever we get the chance while back east.........we've played 8 or so.  We stayed in downtown Mobile for a couple of nights, enjoyed the seafood, and toured some military memorials.  Then we went on to New Orleans where we enjoyed more seafood (especially char grilled oysters), went to some jazz clubs and did alot of walking in the heat and humidity.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Beaver Lodge on the drive to the hike.

Well, it's been 34 years............we were in Crested Butte for the week and did a couple of hikes.  This one was with Meredith to an overlook.  We stopped by Horseranch Park and hiked for a couple of miles.  It would be a great hike in the fall because of all of the aspen groves.

On our actual anniversary we went into Gunnison for breakfast at the Flying W, shopped around a little, relaxed, had a couple of free drinks on the patio at the Montanya Rum Distillery (where Mere works), spent some time with Clyde, and ate dinner at Django's.   It was a nice day!
