We loved Bandon, Oregon.  We were there last month for Dani and Bart's wedding and really loved the town.  I could see going back and spending a couple of weeks there.  We walked the beaches at low tide (Coquille Pt), enjoyed the sleepy seaside town, ate as much seafood as we could, checked out some golf courses (Bandon Dunes), collected rocks and driftwood, watched people catch Dungeness crab off the dock, went to the farmer's market, spent time with friends, and relaxed.  What a wonderful place to discover!

Sacajawea and her dog/Lewis and Clark Trail
Last month we discovered Oregon.  I think if I had known what it was like earlier in my life, I'd be living there.  It is absolutely beautiful.  We flew in on a Tues. afternoon and took the next day to drive up the Columbia River Gorge Highway.  We hiked to the top of Multnomah Falls, hiked Thompson Rock, saw Mt. hood, watched kite surfers in Hood River, went to a couple of wineries, and drove back through Washington State on the other side of the River.  Val flew in on Wed. eve and we took the whole day on Thurs. to drive down to Bandon, Oregon.  We started in Portland, drove over to Lincoln City, and drove down Hwy 101.  It was pretty foggy off and on but we really enjoyed it.  We stopped at a few beaches, had clam chowder for lunch, saw seals and a whale, hiked the Hobbit Hike, and got to Bandon in the late afternoon.

Day-nell and Bart

We spent part of the past week in Oregon and were so lucky to be able to attend the wedding of a special friend and her fiance.  Day-nell and Bart got married on Aug. 16 on the coast of Oregon and it was amazing.  Dani was and is beautiful and Bart looked very handsome.  The ceremony was lovely and the reception was great.  They got married on her grandad's property and we had salmon, crab and oysters. It was a little windy and cool but it was beautiful!  Congrats Dani and Bart. We're looking forward to seeing all of the pics!

Guest Bath Remodel

We've torn out the tile from the guest bathroom upstairs and have retiled.  We've discovered that it isn't that fun and the deco strip was a pain in the butt.  We're ready for the next step which is grouting.  Then we have to call back the plumber to install the new shower fixtures.
We angled the corner by the left of the window.

Swinging with Chops

Chops was here for a visit last weekend while the rest of his family went camping.  I remembered that he enjoys swinging.  He really seemed to enjoy it.

Master Bath Redo Update

We finally had a new vanity countertop installed in the master bathroom.  We went with 'Toffee' granite, new undermount sinks, and Moen faucets that match the shower fixtures.  It looks really nice.  I'm still trying to find new light fixtures.  We also did a demo job on the guest bathroom and need to pic out some new tile for that.
