Dorothy Ann is 93!
Gma turned 93 on Aug. 25th..............Arn and I had scheduled a trail ride on the 24th at Roxborough State Park in a golf cart but unfortunately it was cancelled due to mechanical problems. We drove around thru the park and look at all of the views and had lunch in Denver. Stan and Bea took her out to dinner for her birthday and on Sunday all of the kids came down for brunch at our house. I think it was an exhausting weekend for her but she enjoyed all of the attention.
Lilah surprised Gma with a birthday visit!
We had a fresh peach pie and a baked peach pie instead of cake.
Patio update
It's almost finished. We're just waiting for the fire bowl to arrive next week. Big D Landscaping did a great job and finished in 5 days just like they said. We also got a little grass seed planted to the right of the firepit patio. We need to do some stucco repair work and put some furniture on the patio as soon as the polymer sand hardens.

Tubing Wedding Shower Aug. 4, 2018
Valerie and I planned a 'tubing' shower for Meredith and Tim. It turned out well and was very fun. The Banks family came with Aunt B and they brought Gma. Tyler, Lauren, Eric, Val, and Lilah came too. Mere's coworkers, Allysa and Matt came, and a friend from ultrasound school (Katie and Dave). Tubing was exciting! I am not a relaxed tuber. We had Snarf's delivered, snacks, brownies, chocolate chip bars, Popsicles, and lots of fun. Sucess!

Another Project
We've begun another big project! We're taking off the wooden decks and replacing them with flagstone patios. There will be stone steps coming out of the house to a lower patio and then a step or two going down to another patio with a gas fire pit. I'll add some pics soon. Arn and I demoed the lower deck and he rented a trencher.......hard to handle! We had to get the trench 20 inches deep! We(mostly he) cleaned it up and deepened it after using the trencher and I helped go under and around different pipes and roots. We had a local guy come and grind out three stumps and some roots.
Yesterday the gas line was put in and inspected. Now we have to choose a fire pit that both of us like. We have somebody interested in the old deck so that should help with the demo. We are on the schedule to get the patio done in September, hopefully before the wedding......no more deck staining, dry rot, or fire danger! More to come!
Update - 8/21/18..............the trench is finished. The gas line is connected and the 'bump' from the gas company is done. The firepit is ordered!
