She's Done!

Meredith has finally finished her ultrasound program in Denver at UC Health/Anschutz.  It's been a long year that went by quickly.  She worked her butt off and did well.............now on to job hunting and back home to Tim and their dogs!  We're happy and proud of her.  She put so many hours into studying and logged lots of miles on her car but it will all be worth it.
Congrats Meredith!

Meredith and Tim got engaged!

 Another late post.................................
Big news for Meredith and Timmy!  On a trip down into the Black Canyon this past spring Tim popped the question while they were fishing!  He told her she needed a new fly on her rod and guess what.................they are now engaged and are working on picking a date within the next year.  We are very happy to welcome Tim into our family!

Easter - Late Post - Big News!

I've been really lax in blogging but I'll try to do a better job of posting in the future.  We were supposed to keep quiet on the news for a while but the secret has been out for a while.  Val and Eric are expecting a baby girl Nov. 5th!!  We all found out at Easter with a secret surprise egg scavenger hunt (Arn always did these for the kids thru the years).  It was so fun and unexpected!  There were special eggs which they had blown out, put messages into, painted and boxed up so we all could open them at the same time.  Annnnnd, we finally feel old enought to be grandparents!!  We know her name.......but don't think we tell everybody yet.

Mt. Muscoco Hike

A week or so ago we decided to hike up to Mt. Muscoco (see elevation in Summits List).  I had done Mt. Cutler before but Muscoco is relatively new in the past couple of years.  The trail starts at the same trailhead which is in Cheyenne Canyon.  It was listed as moderate but seemed much harder since we started at 10 AM and it was hot!  It's marked pretty well but we came to a flat area and the marker was missing and we thought that it could have been the summit but another hiker clued us in as to the trail and we continued on up and around the back to the summit.  Off to the left at the top the views were wonderful. There weren't that many people on the trail (they probably had all started earlier than us).  Anyway it was a great workout and I think we got over 17,000 steps that morning.  We stopped at Sacred Grounds (coffee, lunch, dinner) and got a refreshing drink.  I'm going to add it to my bucket list since they do dinner on the weekends and it was a cute, small, local place with outdoor seating.
