Driving home over Independence Pass

Meredith and Tim gave us a gift certif. to Avalanche Ranch and we had a wonderful time.  We drove to Rifle and played golf, spent the night in Glenwood Springs, and drove on to Redstone and Avalanche Ranch.  Redstone is a beautiful little town with lots of beautiful scenery.  We decided to hike to Crystal Mill so we could take our time and it was a great hike along the Crystal River to the mill and on to the small cabin village of Crystal.  It took us about 5 hours and was about 11 miles.  We went to the local bbq place (great) and then finished the day at the hot springs and sat out by the river.  We drove home thru Aspen and Snowmass and came home over Independence Pass.  What a wonderful staycation!!

H.B. Wallace Preserve, Castle Rock...........Green Mountain Falls

We tried a new hike in Green Mountain Falls.........we hike the H.B. Wallace Preserve and Castle Rock.  It was a pretty strenuous hike due steepness but it was well worth it.  After the hike we drove up to some other trail heads and talked to some ladies who clued us in to some of the other great trails in the area.
Bedraggled!!

The small white dot in the center of the picture is The Pantry.........a great place for breakfast or lunch!

Palmer Lake Reservoir ............and an added Loop

We've been trying to hike weekly and this was the reservoir trail with an extra loop added.  We are so fortunate to have such beautiful areas so close by!  This was the end of July and I tried a cool app which creates a video of your hike and pics when you stop............it does use quite a bit of data however!

Our Week with Lilah

Wearing a Bubble outfit I made for Valerie in the 80's

Gpa was excited to give Lilah a pushup
We were able to have Lilah for a week in June while Val and Eric enjoyed a few days away in Oregon.  She was a handful but lots of fun.  We took her to a couple of splash parks and  the North Pole.  She loved the splash parks and was iffy with the North Pole.  She did like the cold pole on a hot day.  She kept us quite busy but it was a fun week.  We went to see GG and they played catch together in GG's apartment.  We can't wait til we have her again?
