Movie Recommendation!
I HIGHLY recommend this movie. We went to see it today and it was absolutely outstanding. Thomas Horn plays the son of Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock and this was his first movie. He is very talented and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets 'best actor' and the movie gets 'best picture'.

Fav Products - One Drop Wonder
Here's one of our new favorite products. It's a one drop bathroom deodorizer. We found out about it during a weekend in Buena Vista spent with about 6 couples. I ordered it online. It's easily placed out of sight and seems go work well. 'Santa' put some in everybody's stocking this year. Our other favorite product of this sort is Citrus Magic and has a great citrus fragrance. It's weird what entertains us as we get older.

Past Quilts
This was a mystery quilt in the quilt guild I'm in from a few years ago. The fabric is woodsy and is the same fabric the bear paw quilt is made from. It included hand applique which I enjoy.

Polish Pottery Love
'Polish farmers created these traditional designs with inspiration from the proud peacock. The brilliant colors added beauty and color to an otherwise plain and simple lifestyle. Over the years the technique of using handmade stencils to create the designs has become a form of art passed on to new generations. Antique pieces can be viewed at museums in Poland. The people of Boleslawiec are proud to share their art with the world.'
I've figured out why I like polish pottery so much....'farmer', 'peacock', 'simple lifestyle', 'art form'. I tend to be drawn to geometrics and lean toward 'jewel tones'. I have yet to have a piece chip or break and it can be used in the microwave, oven, freezer, etc. I always keep an eye out for it at TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshal's, garage sales, Arc, and Goodwill. One day I lucked out and found two perfect coffee mugs at Goodwill for 99 cents each. Normally they are $12 each. Sometimes people don't realize what they've got because it isn't always perfect.

Past Quilts
I thought I'd start keeping a record of past quilts that I've finished. These two are in the condo in CB. The first is a 'turning twenty' with batik scraps. The second is the 'bearpaw' pattern. Currently I'm trying to branch out and delve into the 'modern' quilt movement. I'm working on a block of the month in colors I don't usually work with. I'm also trying to finish some past projects before starting a bunch of new ones.

Steeler Fans In Colorado Springs Show Pride
Steeler Fans In Colorado Springs Show Pride: There are plenty of Steelers fans in Colorado Springs, as KDKA's John Shumway reports. This is where we watched the game yesterday (Overtime Sports Bar). It was lots of fun even tho the Steelers lost. Jack, the guy in the video is a Duquesne grad and he is the coordinator. We will probably go back in the future or try the other place to find the Colorado Steeler Nation, the Dublin House.

Etsy
I'm going to try to do more shopping on Etsy in 2012. This is how the website explains what it is all about......
'Our mission is to empower people to change the way the global economy works. We see a world in which very-very small businesses have much-much more sway in shaping the economy, local living economies are thriving everywhere, and people value authorship and provenance as much as price and convenience. We are bringing heart to commerce and making the world more fair, more sustainable, and more fun.'
Meredith started a shop for her jewelry. Check it out here .

Happy 2012 !
It's New Year's Day....Happy 2012! We're having kapusta for good luck and watching the Steeler game at Oakley's. Read about kapusta here. Gma made her recipe of pork and sauerkraut too. We will have so many leftovers we may have another meal of kapusta half way thru 2012 for good measure to renew the luck. I'm trying to figure out how to add a link within my post to a previous post. Help, Val!
