A couple of days ago Gma and I went to this 1940's musical revenue at the Pikes Peak Center. We went to the matinee and got there well before the doors opened. I didn't want to rush and wanted plenty of time for resting if needed. We had great seats and the place was packed with the largest number of elderly people that I have ever seen. We sat next to 'Monica', a little 96 year old English WWII vet who had come to the concert by herself. Everyone enjoyed the concert but they didn't sing the full version of Gma's favorite song, I'll Be Seeing You. It was my mom and dad's 'song'. When they sang all of the WWII songs at the end it brought tears to your eyes as all of the vets sung, clapped, and were recognized. Monica leaned over and said that she had marched many a mile to 'Roll Out the Barrell'. It was really a memorable afternoon with Gma.
I'll Be Seeing You
Lyrics:
I'll Be Seeing You lyrics
I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through
In that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carousel
The chestnut trees, the wishin' well
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In every thing that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I'll see you in that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carousel
The chestnut trees, the wishin' well
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In every thing that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I'll be seeing you
I'll be seeing you

I Knew there was a reason I loved my Chia Pet!
I've been trying to add chia seeds to my diet. Where have they been all of these years when they sound so wonderful? I add them to yogurt and do like the texture. Tonight I'm going too try adding them to chocolate almond milk for a low cal, filling snack. Everyone needs more fiber (30 gm a day) for good bowel health (just heard a GI doc give a talk on constipation). Also on a weekly basis I see the the results of not eating enough fiber (at work, colonoscopy exams, diverticulosis).

Movie Recommendation - A League of Their Own
We just watched A League of Their Own. It's one of the best movies made. It is about the All American Girls Professional Baseball League which was formed during WW II. It's based on true events. Maybe it's because both of my girls played softball or maybe it's the great cast. It is definitely one of my favorites. 'There is no crying in baseball'!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day!
We're having a nice day here. Arn had to go into work so Gma and I did a few errands. We had lunch at the Navajo Hogan. Then we dropped by Dutch Brothers for some Dutch Luv (donate 3 cans of food and get a free drink). Tonight Arn and I are going out for some apps and a drink and maybe stop by the Speed Trap for some music.

CB Weekend
We went skiing this past weekend and had lots of powdery snow! In fact it was a blizzard all weekend. Monarch Pass was closed all day on Sunday due to an avalanche so we had to go a different route which added an extra hour to our trip home.
Winter in Crested Butte, Colorado’s hard-core skiing town
